Annette Obrestad is true role model for female Poker Players

After Betfair Poker’s Pro Team player Annetee Obrestad’s amazing performance and resulting win at the Aussie millions 2010 tournament last month, she remains one of the true role models for women looking to make a career from playing poker and not just getting paid to be the “face” of poker.

There are a few high profile female players who no doubt can play poker, but one sometimes wonders if their aesthetic appeal for male players is a key factor in the decision by online poker rooms to include them in their pro teams line up.

If these female poker players are What Anna Kournikova is to tennis, Annette Obrestad is surely the Martina Navratilova. At 22 she has already had a very successful career that many men would be proud of and has a long time to establish herself as not only the most successful female poker player of all time but a name of the all time winners lists.
Her most recent win is was at the Aussie Millions 2010 tournament. She was the only female to make it to the main event final table alongside her Betfair Team mate Sorel Mizzi “Annette_15″ also took down a field of 160 players to capture the title of Event #4, $1,100 Pot Limit Omaha, of the 2010 Aussie Millions.


Obrestad already holds the record for the youngest ever bracelet winner at the WSOPE. Now she is over 21 we anticipate big things in the US tournaments as well – a true female role model and a great ambassador for the Betfair Poker Brand.
